I created a Questionnaire for 10 people. I don’t need much advice from anyone because I am very sure on what I want to achieve, but these are a few of the questions on my questionnaire, which have helped me make some decisions. All of the 10 people knew the storyline of my short film.
Do you think an unexpected ending would be effective? Out of the ten people I asked all of them said yes. Which is exactly what I wanted, I am now more confident about my film idea.
Do you think that the main character should be male or female? Again, all of the ten people said female, which I am very happy with.
Could you give me an upbeat song that you think would work well with the story? I had a variety of songs that I liked. Two of my favourites were Wiley ‘Cash in my Pocket’ and Florence and the Machine ‘Dog days are over’. When I have edited my film, I will watch the film with both of these songs to see which one fits best.
Do you think that a dramatic pause in the music when the girl realises she has won money would be effective? This was a yes or no question and 9 people said yes. Someone also wrote underneath that as long as I can edit it at the right points, it would look really good.
Do you think that the storyline will grab the attention of an audience? 8 people answered yes.
This is what I was hoping for.
What age range would you recommend for this film? Many people said around 15-25, some people said children and others said all ages. I would say all ages, but I will concentrate on the 15-25 range. I think my choice of music will attract certain ages.
These are just some of the questions from my questionnaire that have made a difference with making my decisions.
